Information Scientists

Information scientists or Specialists in Poisons Information (SPIs) are the workhorse of the National Poisons Information Service (NPIS). They come from a variety of predominantly science backgrounds with a range of previous experience. Their primary roles include writing, editing and maintaining the 17,000 entries on TOXBASE and answering the telephone enquiries that come in from all over the country on the national poisons advice telephone line.

If you are interested in finding out more about becoming a SPI then please contact us.
